Juventus Circle as Reijnders Faces New Competition

Juventus have made contact with Manchester City about a potential loan deal for midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, according to reports in Italy. The claim comes from La Stampa via TMW, who say the Serie A giants are keen to take the 28-year-old on a temporary basis.

Reijnders, who cost City £46.5 million, is now the subject of interest from Turin. The Italian side have apparently reached out to the Blues to sound out the possibility of a loan.

No further details have emerged about the structure of any deal, or whether City are willing to listen. But the contact has been made, and that in itself tells you where Juventus stand.

There has been no confirmation from City, and no suggestion that Reijnders is pushing for a move. The midfielder remains a senior option in Enzo Maresca's squad, though the arrival of Ayyoub Bouaddi has added another body to the engine room.

City's first pre-season game is against Inter Milan on 1st August. The Premier League season starts on 23rd August.

Between now and then, Maresca will want clarity over his squad. Whether Reijnders stays or goes, the interest from Juventus is real. That much is clear.
