Erling Haaland's fitness is the big question for Manchester City before Tuesday's Champions League tie with AEK Athens at the Etihad.
The striker sat out the open portion of City's final training session on Monday, putting his participation in doubt. Haaland picked up a knock in Saturday's 3-2 Premier League win over Ipswich Town, appearing to hurt his foot late on after catching Jack Clarke's studs while shooting. He was seen limping as he went down the tunnel at full-time.
Enzo Maresca, though, has not ruled him out. "He can be available. We'll see," the City boss said before the session. "We have some doubts after Saturday's game. He was quite good yesterday. Better. So we'll see today."
Haaland's importance to City's European campaign is clear. He has scored all four of their Champions League goals this season, netting twice against Porto and twice in the 4-2 defeat by Paris Saint-Germain. His league form is hardly shabby either: eight goals already, including two against Ipswich.
City are already without Antoine Semenyo, who is expected to miss around eight weeks with a knee injury. Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes and Nico O'Reilly also missed the open session after picking up fitness concerns in the Ipswich win. Maresca had earlier suggested the rest of his squad were "more or less okay."
The Blues host AEK at 8pm on Tuesday, looking to respond to that PSG defeat. Whether Haaland features remains the main talking point until the teams are announced.
