Manchester City's win over Ipswich Town on Saturday came at a cost, with Antoine Semenyo ruled out for eight weeks and Erling Haaland among those facing a fitness wait before Tuesday's Champions League tie.

Enzo Maresca confirmed the extent of Semenyo's problem on Monday. The winger came on late against Ipswich, hurt his knee shortly afterwards, and saw out the match despite not being able to run at full speed. With no substitution left to make, he stayed on.

Haaland's situation is less clear. Maresca initially said the striker would be available for the AEK Athens game at the Etihad, then clarified that the club would assess him in Monday's training session. The Norwegian's issue concerns his foot, and he was seen limping heavily as he left the pitch at the end of the Ipswich match, having appeared to collide with Jack Clarke late on.

There is at least some encouragement: Haaland felt better on Sunday than he had on Saturday after the victory.

Mateo Kovačić, Matheus Nunes and Nico O'Reilly also picked up knocks or injuries during the Ipswich match. O'Reilly's problem may simply be an aggravation of an existing back issue.

Maresca's update offered a mixed picture. Semenyo is the only player ruled out; the rest, Haaland included, have a chance of featuring against AEK Athens on Tuesday at 15:00 BST.
