A summer of change at the Etihad
Just one game into Enzo Maresca's reign and the attacking picture is already shifting. Tottenham are closing in on a remarkable double deal that could eventually be worth £135m to City, with Savinho and Omar Marmoush both heading for the exit.
The two moves are at different stages. Savinho's departure is considerably further advanced, with Spurs having agreed to pay an initial £75m for the Brazilian, plus up to £10m in bonuses. Around £5m of those add-ons are thought to be readily achievable.
If completed as expected, the deal would make Savinho City's record sale. Not bad for a winger whose time at the club has been brief.
Marmoush, meanwhile, is the subject of fresh reports suggesting a verbal agreement has been reached over an initial loan, with a conditional obligation to make the move permanent for £50m. The Egypt international has already agreed personal terms and is reportedly due for a medical.
Neither transfer has been formally announced by either club, and the full £135m figure is not guaranteed. Savinho's package includes performance-related bonuses, while the permanent element of Marmoush's proposed move depends on specified conditions being met.
The expected departures would represent a significant change to Maresca's attacking options after just one Premier League game in charge. City, though, are not standing still. They are working on a deal for Palmeiras winger Allan and have verbally agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old.
It is early days, but the shape of Maresca's squad is already starting to form. Whether Tottenham land both targets remains to be seen, but the direction of travel is clear.
