City Move for Brazilian Winger Allan
Manchester City have opened formal negotiations with Palmeiras over the signing of winger Allan, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that talks were initiated overnight. The 22-year-old has already agreed personal terms, according to the transfer journalist.
Allan carries a €100m (£86m) release clause in his contract, though Palmeiras are said to be reluctant sellers and unlikely to demand the full figure. The Brazilian club sit top of their domestic table, with Flamengo just three points behind and holding a game in hand — losing a key player mid-season would sting.
Brazil's calendar runs from January to November, so any deal would pull Allan out of a title race in full swing. That partly explains why Palmeiras are digging in their heels.
The timing is no coincidence. City's Director of Football Hugo Viana is looking to replace a winger, and the trail points to Savinho. Tottenham have agreed to pay £75m up front for the Brazilian, with another £10m in add-ons, and talks are ongoing about Omar Marmoush joining him in North London.
Allan came through Palmeiras' youth ranks, making his senior debut against Portuguesa in the Paulista State Championship at the start of 2025. Since then he has racked up 95 first-team appearances, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists. Most of those outings have come on the right wing, cutting inside onto his stronger left foot.
It is early days, but the pieces are moving. City lose one Brazilian wide man and appear to be lining up another.
