Savinho's Exit Wish Made Clear
Savinho has made his intentions plain. The Brazilian winger has told Enzo Maresca he wants to leave Manchester City this summer, with Tottenham Hotspur leading the chase for his signature.
The 22-year-old was one of the brighter sparks during City's preseason tour of Asia, yet his future appears to lie away from the Etihad. According to Bruno Andrade of ESPN Brasil, negotiations between City and Spurs are ongoing, with the Blues demanding a fee in the region of £70 million for the Brazilian international.
It seems Tottenham are prepared to meet that valuation. Savinho has reportedly been in direct contact with Spurs manager Roberto De Zerbi on several occasions this summer, suggesting a move to north London is very much in the works.
One significant hurdle remains, however. City's failure to secure a replacement for Savinho has stalled the winger's move to London, with the club understandably reluctant to sanction an exit before a successor is in place.
For a player who impressed during the club's travels in Asia, the timing is a little awkward. But Savinho's mind appears made up, and with Spurs willing to pay the asking price, the deal now hinges on City finding a suitable replacement.
