Reijnders speculation rumbles on, but City hold all the cards
Tijjani Reijnders continues to be a name on the lips of Europe's gossip columns, with Nottingham Forest the latest club credited with an interest in the Dutch midfielder.
Forest's admiration, however, appears to be just that. No formal bid has been reported, and while Juventus and Galatasaray have also been linked, there is little to suggest any of it is about to turn into something more concrete.
City, for their part, are hardly in a position to be rushed. Reijnders remains under contract, which gives the Blues a firm footing. Should any club wish to test their resolve, they know the asking price: somewhere in the region of £55-60m.
That valuation may give suitors pause, or it may simply be the starting point for a negotiation. Either way, the initiative rests with City.
For now, the speculation continues to swirl. Whether Forest's interest ever develops into something firmer remains to be seen, but the club are under no obligation to entertain anything less than a serious offer.
