New manager addresses the elephant in the room
Enzo Maresca has finally spoken publicly about Manchester City’s long-running 115-charge FFP case. The Italian faced the media for his first major press conference since replacing Pep Guardiola, and the subject was always going to come up.
He insisted the saga isn’t weighing on him as he begins life as City boss.
Maresca pointed out he was already at the club, suggesting the situation is nothing new to him. The Blues’ new manager has been inside the building throughout the process, so the noise from outside doesn’t seem to have landed on his desk.
It’s early days. The 2026-27 season hasn’t kicked off yet, and there’s still no decision on those charges. For now, Maresca appears content to let the legal side run its course while he focuses on the football.
