A flawless opening to the season
Manchester City head into the international break with a 5-0 start in the Premier League, three points clear at the top. Since the campaign began, Enzo Maresca's side has won all seven of its matches in all competitions. The 15 points from five league games leave City three clear of Arsenal.
Semenyo's brace sees off Sunderland
Sunday's 5-3 win over Sunderland was not without its scares. The visitors kept pressing in the second half, and City needed a goal to steady themselves. Antoine Semenyo delivered, scoring twice. The winger, a pick-up from January, continues to look a shrewd addition. Sunderland scored three, but City's attacking quality told.
Haaland completes the set
Erling Haaland scored in the second half against Sunderland. In doing so, he has now found the net against every current Premier League team. The striker's tally against Sunderland means there is no top-flight side he has failed to score against.
Foden still sidelined
Phil Foden remains unavailable. His momentary loss of control against Manchester United two games ago cost him three matches, and he has one more to sit out. Maresca, meanwhile, is undefeated through seven games as City manager.
