City's Injury List Shrinks to One
Manchester City's medical room is starting to clear. Ahead of Thursday's Carabao Cup tie against Norwich, Jeremy Doku remains the only confirmed senior absentee. The Belgium international is still sidelined with the calf injury he sustained during the Community Shield defeat to Arsenal in August.
Doku has not featured since that Wembley outing, though he has returned to training and appears to be edging closer to a comeback. Manager Enzo Maresca ruled him out of Sunday's Manchester derby on Friday, offering a brief update:
"Jeremy, I think he needs some more days."
That suggests the winger's absence won't drag on much longer.
O'Reilly Available Again
Nico O'Reilly is back in contention after recovering from the back problem that kept him out of the Coventry City and Porto matches. The issue flared up during the warm-up before City's 1-0 win over Coventry, and he subsequently missed the Champions League victory at Porto.
Maresca declared him 100% available before the derby, and O'Reilly returned to action against Manchester United, replacing Enzo Fernandez in the closing stages of City's 1-0 victory.
No New Concerns from Derby
Despite playing with ten men for a large portion of Sunday's derby, City came through without any obvious fresh injury problems. That will come as a relief given the physical demands of the match.
Maresca is due to speak to the media on Wednesday, when he should provide the next update on Doku and confirm whether anybody picked up a problem in the derby.
