Midfield Shuffle On The Cards
Reports suggest City could let Tijjani Reijnders leave this summer, but only if Ayyoub Bouaddi arrives at the Etihad first. The Dutch midfielder's future appears conditional on business coming the other way.
It is understood that the Blues are likely to sanction the departure of Reijnders should the move for Bouaddi be completed. That puts the ball firmly in City's court as they weigh up the French youngster.
No figures have been mentioned for either player in the reports. Bouaddi, 18, currently plays for Lille and has been tracked by several European clubs. Reijnders, 27, joined City from AC Milan last summer and made 32 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring four goals.
The 2026-27 campaign does not begin until 23rd August. City have a pre-season friendly against Inter Milan on 1st August to work through their options.
"If Bouaddi comes, Reijnders could be on his way," one source indicated.
Nothing is finalised yet. The club are assessing their midfield depth after the departures of Bernardo Silva and John Stones this summer. Enzo Maresca will want clarity before the season starts.
