Back-up keeper hunt narrows

Manchester City have settled on a target to fill the number two goalkeeping slot. Argentinian veteran Geronimo Rulli is the preferred option to take over from James Trafford as the club's reserve shot-stopper.

Fabrizio Romano reports that City want Rulli to sit behind Gianluigi Donnarumma in the pecking order. The Blues are acting to replace Trafford, who is Leeds United-bound.

The 34-year-old is keen on a move to the Etihad, according to the same information. His current club, Olympique Marseille, are aware of City's interest.

Negotiations would now appear to be the next step.
