Allan in Manchester Ahead of Imminent Move
Palmeiras winger Allan has touched down in Manchester as his switch to City edges towards completion. According to Fabrizio Romano, the 22-year-old Brazilian is already in the city to finalise the details of his transfer to the Etihad.
The move is expected to be wrapped up imminently, with City shelling out €40m — roughly £34.2m — for the forward. That fee looks increasingly reasonable in a summer where wide players have commanded hefty premiums.
Allan came through the ranks at Palmeiras, making his senior debut against Portuguesa in the Paulista State Championships back in January 2025. Since then, he has racked up 96 first-team appearances, scoring nine goals and adding 12 assists.
Predominantly left-footed, Allan prefers to operate off the right flank — a profile that will sound familiar to anyone who watched Savinho during his time at City. Savinho's departure to Tottenham in a deal worth upwards of £75m has left a void on the right, and with Omar Marmoush set to follow him to Spurs, Maresca's wide options are thinning out.
Allan's arrival will help, but it may not be the last piece of business this window. Liverpool's Cody Gakpo has emerged as a top target for another winger, with Romano reporting that talks have taken place between City and the Dutchman's representatives in recent days. Gakpo will only be allowed to leave Anfield if Liverpool find a replacement first.
Should that pursuit stall, Everton's Iliman Ndiaye — also linked with Manchester United and Arsenal — is thought to be the main alternative.
