The first proper clear-out of the Enzo Maresca era is taking shape, with reports suggesting as many as seven senior Manchester City players could be moved on this summer.

Following Pep Guardiola's departure — which included a £17 million settlement with Chelsea over their former coach — sporting director Hugo Viana has moved at speed to hand his new manager a record-breaking £116 million signing in Elliot Anderson. With that deal done, the focus has now shifted to balancing the books and shaping the squad strictly around Maresca's high-intensity, fluid tactical requirements.

According to MailSport's Jack Gaughan, Nathan Ake is one high-profile name expected to leave this summer amid interest from both the Premier League and abroad. The report also lists £25 million-rated Rico Lewis as one to watch over the coming weeks.

Tottenham will need to meet City's valuation of Savinho — thought to be north of £60 million — if they want to land the Brazilian winger. Elsewhere, Croatian international Mateo Kovacic is said to be considering his options alongside Omar Marmoush, while Maresca and Viana are reportedly open to listening to offers for Nico Gonzalez.

Perhaps the most surprising name on the list is Ruben Dias. Despite reports earlier this month pointing towards the defender staying, Gaughan now suggests a departure cannot be discounted — particularly a reunion with Bernardo Silva at Real Madrid under Jose Mourinho.

Losing a leader of Dias' stature would deal a severe blow to the dressing room, but it would simultaneously unlock further financial reserves and potentially allow Viana to pursue other defensive targets like Chelsea's Malo Gusto or another right-back.

Whether all seven departures happen or Viana chooses to retain a select few for depth, the message is clear: no senior star barring only a handful of names is safe as a ruthless new era begins.
