Rico Lewis could be on his way out of Manchester City this summer, with Everton reportedly keen on the 21-year-old.

Last season was a difficult one for Lewis. He managed just 22 appearances across all competitions, averaging a little over 50 minutes per game. Most of those came in cup competitions, with Matheus Nunes firmly established as first-choice at right-back.

That lack of game time cost him a place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the ongoing World Cup. It has also sparked talk of a move away from East Manchester.

According to Football Insider's Pete O'Rourke, Everton have identified Lewis as a target to strengthen their right-back options this summer.

But prising him away from City won't come cheap. Despite being on the fringes of the first-team picture, the club are expected to hold out for a fee north of £35 million. City are not actively pushing the academy graduate out, but they won't stand in his way if a suitable offer arrives and he asks to leave.

Lewis's name has already come up in talks with Nottingham Forest regarding Elliot Anderson. Forest are believed to retain interest after a failed approach last summer.

City themselves are in the market for a right-back. Chelsea's Malo Gusto, a personal favourite of Enzo Maresca, and Feyenoord's Givairo Read have both been linked.
