Manchester City are poised to let Joel Ndala leave on a permanent basis, with the Belgian Pro League outfit Cercle Brugge understood to have struck an agreement for the winger. The deal, reported by journalist Sacha Tavolieri, is expected to be worth around £2.5 million.
Ndala, now 20, first joined City's academy in 2016, arriving from Port Vale when he was just 10 years old. During his time in the club's U18 setup, he registered 17 goals and eight assists across 41 appearances.
The step up to senior football proved harder. Loan spells at Jong PSV, Nottingham Forest, Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday all yielded limited impact. His most recent stint at Sheffield Wednesday ended prematurely after the club were relegated to League One. Ndala made only eight appearances for the Owls before dropping out of the side in April.
He is an England youth international, having represented his country at U16, U17, U18 and U20 level.
Cercle Brugge, who play their home games at the Jan Breydel Stadium, will be his next destination. Tavolieri's report adds that further details on the deal's structure are to follow, with the transfer not yet formally confirmed by either club.
