Black and gold in Hong Kong
Phil Foden and Abdukodir Khusanov were on hand in Hong Kong this week to show off City's new away kit for the 2026/27 season. The pair, alongside Academy prospect Ryan McAidoo, presented the strip at a Harbour Pitch: Built For This City fan event during the club's pre-season tour of Asia.
The shirt is built around a black base, with gold detailing running across the collar, underarm stripes and sleeve cuffs. The standout feature is an all-over embossed pattern of worker bees — a direct nod to one of Manchester's most recognisable cultural symbols.
The pale gold tone is a deliberate throwback. It echoes the colour used on City's 1989/90 third kit.
Foden and Khusanov being chosen to front the reveal felt far from coincidental. Both players had committed their long-term futures to the club just days earlier.
The launch follows the home kit, revealed in May, which used a sky-blue gradient to pay tribute to the various shades of blue City have worn over the years. These two releases mark the start of the first full Puma kit cycle of the post-Pep Guardiola era.
The away shirt goes on general release this week. City's pre-season continues with a friendly against Inter Milan on August 1, before the tour moves on to Seoul.
