Manchester City travel to Nottingham Forest on Saturday aiming to end a two-game Premier League losing run, with Elliot Anderson set to face his former club for the first time since his summer move.
Anderson, who rejoined City from Forest in the summer, returns to the City Ground on the back of a decisive contribution in midweek. The midfielder assisted Erling Haaland's 78th-minute winner as City beat RB Leipzig 3-2 in the Champions League.
That win came after a chastening fortnight in the league. City lost 2-1 away to Aston Villa on October 28 and then fell to a 1-0 home defeat against Brighton three days later. They have not lost three consecutive Premier League games since March 2016.
Enzo Maresca's side currently sit on 21 points from their opening nine games, three points behind leaders Arsenal.
Anderson's Last Meeting With Forest
Anderson's last encounter with Forest came in March, when he scored in a 2-2 draw at the Etihad Stadium. Morgan Gibbs-White and Anderson both netted for Forest that day, while Antoine Semenyo and Rodri were on the scoresheet for City.
Semenyo, however, looks set to miss Saturday's game due to a knee injury.
City's most recent visit to the City Ground ended in a 2-1 win in December 2025, with Rayan Cherki scoring a stoppage-time winner.
Forest's Struggles
Oliver Glasner's Forest sit 19th in the table, having picked up just six points from their opening nine games. They have scored only six goals in nine league games and have gone five games without a goal, losing their last match 2-0.
Igor Jesus is back in full training after a calf injury, but Nicolás Domínguez will be out for about eight weeks. Nicolo Savona has returned to training but is unlikely to feature against City, while Dan Ndoye and Daniel Muñoz have been training with minor fitness issues.
The game kicks off at 5.30pm UK time on November 7 and will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.
